I would be hesitant to say that this is a biblical retelling. Instead, it draws upon references to biblical themes, images, and characters as a means to cultivate irony, sarcasm, character development, and interwoven metaphors. The writing and narrative path are both impeccable, making for a non-intrusive narrator and a creating an easy pace of flow from one scene to the next, culminating in a story that crumbles its way into conclusion. A definite must read.
