This book is very great. Even though the 2 strongest characters in the book go away.I like this book because it shows a social life from the two gangs Greasers and Socs. This book makes you get much deeper into the thoughts of S.E.HINTON...
This read was a pleasant surprise, although it vaguely reminds me of the Hunger Game series, I have been told that it is because of this Dystopian society genre that is all the rage right now and is categorized as such. The story was a nail biter and kept me reading until the end. I slept little and the story stuck with me while having to stop reading to do the daily activities that life demands of us. The only downside that I found, is that although Hunger Games is bloody and violent, Divergent also has more of a cruelty that makes you cringe. I would not recommend it to the younger YA group. Bottom line, I personally loved reading this book and cannot wait to read the next in the series "Insurgent" which is coming in April 2012. If you do not like Dystopian type genres then this is Not the read for you. (I say this because I noticed in some of the reviews that the same reviewers would write about how much they do not like this genre, but continue on to the other books of the same type to complain about them also) But those of you who loved the Hunger Games. Then you should definitely give this book a try also.
