I loved this book because it wasn't in any organized format. It was just Lewis writing unrelated journal entries as he made observations about life, himself, and God in the months following the death of his wife. It gave me a lot to think about, especially the notion that separation is a natural stage of any relationship. He brought up the point that many branches of Christianity do not believe that a soul is in bliss immediately after death, and therefore the deceased may be mourning the loss of their loved one just as much or more than the living is. I am sure that I will revisit this book sometime in the future.
My first trek into SciFi Fantasy and I absolutely loved it. While there are clearly some superior reads, this particular book and the entire trilogy hooked me on this genre.
