I'm twenty-three and can still say Sarah Dessen is one of my favorite authors and that I will continue to read whatever this woman writes. I love her books because you get to experience first love all over again. I like that she faces her character with real struggles that most girls deal with at her age, but she gives the young woman a bit more sense of self. It shows you can be confident and confused all that the same time at that age as well as any other age. This book is probably my favorite out of them all, which is saying a lot because I LOVE them all... From the strained relationship between Auden and her parents, to the awkward yet developing relationship between her and her step mother Heidi, to making new friends and falling in love for the first time. It has everything. I strongly recommend this book. I own every Sarah Dessen book and gave them to my younger sister so she too could enjoy them... I'm beginning to regret it, I miss flipping through them to my favorite parts.
