I was really looking for a "fluff" book after reading Hemingway for six months, and this book fit the bill. It was entertaining, predictable, and easy to read. Since that was essentially what I was looking for I really have no cause to complain. However, I will say there was an incorrect cultural reference towards the beginning of the book that left me a little irked...
This is a great historical novel following the life a little girl sent to Molokai as a leper. I only wish I had been reading it on a Hawaiian beach!
Very different from any romance that I've read lately. The backdrop of a love story of long ago along with the whole pychic phenom that became so popular in the late 1800's gave the story an unusual flair.
I loved this book. It kept me guessing, then second-guessing, who the killer was until the end. I haven't read many mysteries lately that haven't been predictable, so this was very welcome. I'll definitely be reading (or listening to) more Scottoline.
