O-M-G, this is bad! I tend to cut books a lot of slack when I read "based on a script by", but this is a mess. Sentences that are seldom properly ended, leaving it open to the reader to guess what the author initally might have meant to write, and to add insult to injury he graces us in addition with a full page desribing nothing but a characters craving for peaches - because that is what I want to read about, when picking up a book titled "World War III" - whose only redeeming quality lies in getting killed on the following page. Edit: After giving the book a second chance I guess it's not quite as bad as I first thought, actually I'm inclined to say that with a bit of tightening up the intoduction (the first fifty to sixty pages could easily be condensed to maybe twenty or less pages without loosing anything, they hardly have any bearing on the story) and with a more polished translation I would have honestly liked the book. Once it gets going it is becoming a rather gripping mix between military action and political charades.
