I liked the first novel in this series, Ringworld, so much that I really looked forward to reading the second. Maybe that accounts for some of my disappointment, but I did not enjoy this as much as Ringworld. Partly I think I could not buy into the idea of inherited luck. Still it was enjoyable, and I might have rated it a little higher if this was not in direct comparison to the first.
Transformative ... all I can say is ... READ IT!
