Title in German: Vorübergehend tot To appease my newly found favor of vampire novels I bought two books of Charlaine Harris´ Sookie-Stackhouse-Series. Dead until Dark introduces Sookie and her world where vampires live openly between humans and other non- or rather half-humans. Sookie herself is telepathic, works as a cocktail waitress in a bar and has always dreamed about to meet a vampire. One day her wish is granted and Bill a tall dark and handsome vampire finds his way to Bon Temps where Sookie lives. After rescuing him form certain death both are very attracted to each other what isn´t really welcomed by the other people in town. And when suddenly some women who had consorted with vampires are murdered everybody starts suspecting Bill and his friends.. and Sookie seems to be on the killer´s list either… I liked Sookie – blonde, nice and vulnerable because of her telepathy – and Bill although I have to admit I find Eric the big bad vampire much more interesting. The story is written rather captivating and humorous and it took me some time to figure out the villain. I will definitely read the next volumes too… Homepage of the author: http://www.charlaineharris.com/
