So the prophecy tool I dislike but concede is a useful way of moving a story forward? Yeah, it's here. One good thing about it here is one "line" is revealed only once the previous line is fulfilled. So in book 1, there were allusions to "the first sign", but not *too* many. Unlike Book 2. It gets irritating to have that one line of prophecy getting bantered around all over the book. Enough already, all right? Apart from that, well, the tale of Joanna-as-Olivia Archer, Agent of Light, continues quite well, as she continues to figure out where she stands, and where her supposed colleagues stand, in terms of dealing with her mix of Light and Shadow. There was a good twist at the end, at the showdown between Joanna and Joaquin. *applause* Unfortunately, something is pretty obvious (to me anyway): the identity of Joanna's mother, the missing Archer. It'll be explored/revealed in Book 3, obviously. But when identities are revealed, there won't be a gasp or surprise from me :p
I love this book. It really is a special adjunct to the diary. In my opinion it makes the diary so much more interesting. Fabulous photos and background information about Anne and her family.
