** spoiler alert ** It's a movie... animation. PG-13 is right.... not really kid-friendly. It's unusual - no words (and hence no subtitles). Creative. The story is rather interesting: a grandmother who's caring for her orphaned grandson tries hard to connect with him. She finds out that he's really into biking. So she gets him a bike, and starts him on a rigorous training program for Tour de France. On the "Day" he starts the race and gets kidnapped (due to a reason that will be revealed later in the movie). The grandmother goes all out to find her beloved grandson - clearly she loves, loves, loves him. That said, this is not really too enjoyable. One, the grandson is ugly, and it's hard to like him. Two, the triplets of Belleville are too eccentric (and gross). Three, the dog is surprisingly obese. Bottom line: the one redeeming quality is the grandmother's love.
