Dissapointed by the totally bizzare and rushed ending, but not enough to give the book a lone star as it's got funny bits that was enough to keep me going and even chuckle now and then... but then again it could be down to me being in a very good mood when I was reading this. I guess I won't be holding out for this book nor would I keep an eye out for the authors' other works...
This was an incredibly well-written work, even though I disagreed with a huge majority of the ideas in it, most especially the portrayal of women as basically mindless drones who just want to please their man and have babies, and who, according to Kazantzakis, have and desire no part in eternal salvation - apparently that's man's work. Blast.
This book made me an athiest when I was 13. Pretty cool, no?
