I began this book on a recommendation of a friend and finished it mainly out of stubbornness. Don't get me wrong, there were some very funny and delightful stories in the book. Fry desperately needs an editor, though. Among the funny stories, he goes on jags of self deprecation that, frankly, just sound whiny. It doesn't really matter that he says he knows that he's being whiny. I'd just rather not read it. Furthermore, a large part of this book seemed to be a vehicle for Fry to list and brown-nose to every person he's ever worked with or met in his life. He claims early in the book, that he's being sincere and not brown-nosing, but at the end of 400-some pages, I was about to implode if I read the name of one more famous to semi-famous person who was absolutely delightful and one of the warmest most wonderful and talented people in the known universe. Oh, did I say everyone he'd met in his life? My mistake. The book stops when he turns 30. So, he still has 20-some years to cover in a future autobiography he not-so-subtly alludes to at the end of this book. I won't be reading that one.
