** spoiler alert ** I loved everything about this graphic novel! The characters, the cameos and references to other comic book.graphic novel characters, the story, EVERYTHING!!! I especially loved when Dream worked with John Constantine to find his sandbag, when dream went to Hell to find his helmet, and of course, when the reader finds out that Dream's older sister is Death (and the fact that Death is a girl is just awesome). The part with Doctor Destiny kinda creeped me out, particularly when he was in the diner with those customers and one of them confessed she had sex with a dead body...hmm. I can't wait to get my hands on the next volume, The Sandman, Vol. 2: The Doll's House.
Excellent gritty fantasy series. Martin isn't afraid to let main characters die with the world still moving on.
