I won this book from Goodreads, but didn't read it right away. I wasn't sure it was something I'd be interested in although I'd enjoyed her last novel. After letting both my parents read it first, and hearing their rave reviews, I gave it a chance. So happy I did, I loved it. A real page turner with rich characters and an unforgetable (true) story.
I skipped through a lot. The story was compelling but some sections seemed to wander into areas that weren't very compelling or related well to the narrative. I think the author loved the husband much more than her character and I wasn't sure the epilogue made sense with that in mind.
Fascinating book about one of the first cases of corporate responsibility which happened in Boston and involved a molasses vat breaking and killing community members.
One of the most amazing books I've ever read. It is an experience to read and most probably, life changing.
