I'm adding this to the "comics" shelf, even though it's more of an illustrated novel. It's completely goofy. The illustrations really do add to the story--mostly they're just drawings of what was already stated in the text, but some tell portions of the story as well. Either way, the drawings really do add to the humor of this otherwise-deadpan diary (excuse me--journal) of a year in the life of a middle-schooler.
woah. just as good as i remembered, even though i totally forgot a bunch of the craziest stuff.
Really thorough, but scarey when you live in Mexico.
