This was a great Maya Banks story. #2 in the Sweet series, about Damon, owner of an exclusive BDSM club/mansion (a la Eyes Wide Shut, lol) and Serena, a woman who has an overwhelming desire to be a sex slave (for a prescribed amount of time,1 month). Serena meets Damon to arrange for this fantasy complete with auction, only to find that he is the one who wants to be her Master. There's a big attraction and she's thrilled, but has a very difficult time when her feelings for Damon grow and she doesn't know if she can step out of the fantasy role and be his for real. This was pretty well written. No suspense plot, just relationship building. I think this book had the most sex of any I've read in a very long time and it was of the mostly kinky variety, but not too over the top for me. What might turn some readers off is the role of Serena the sex slave, which is more extreme than a typical submissive. There is the feeding of the slave, her sitting at the Master's feet, being tied up before bed, appearing nude at a buisiness dinner, etc., but it's done in a very loving manner (did that sound ridiculous?!). It's not at all similar to hardcore BDSM erotica like Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty. Love is always in the forefront and there's only one scene of punishment that had me cringing for stepping over the humiliation line. I read this in 3 hours and couldn't put it down. Very light, satisfying reading.
