A sweet tale. I wished it was longer and the characters a little more flushed out.
Ok, this one was even more fluffy than I had expected up front. The storyline was cute, occasionally funny or tearjerking, but nothing new or earthshattering about it. The characters were all ok, although I didn't identify with a single one of them - all these poor rich women in NYC. I didn't find any of them to be particularly likable either. But, despite all of this, I felt compelled to finish the book, and am even currently reading the sequel, which is holding even LESS surprise and interest than the first, so it may get tossed before it's finished. Interestingly, while the author photo on the backcover looks like a mid 30s gal, much of the dialogue sounds like it was written by a very prim senior citizen, something that truly irked me throughout the novel. Not sure what all the fuss was about with this book - the movie (haven't read the book) Steel Magnolias was FAR better than this book, and I don't think a comparison is doing anyone any favors (it's all over the book covers). Anyone agree? Disagree?
Laura ,Ma, Pa, Mary,& baby Carrie take you on a journey back in time. It is an eye opening experience for todays children to compare then & now
I really liked this! It was a page turner.
