This book is only partly a love story. It focuses more on the history and religious aspects of Turkey. It was a fairly quick read, only taking me about 3 hours to finish. I found it to be quite interesting since I'm a fan of history and don't really know much about that fascinating part of world. There was a good mix of humour and seriousness in Krause's retelling of his experiences in Turkey. I highly recommend this book for those who have an interest in the history and/or religious facets of Turkey.
I loved every part of it! It was one of the best books i've ever read and that's really saying something!
