I probably would have given this a 4 if it weren't the first of 8 books. That is just too much. Too much time, investment and war. Bleh. I loved the Aussie-ness - the slang, the settings, the land. It really made me miss my dear Aussie friends. Sigh. Good - woulda been better as a one-off. But whadda I know?
I absolutely, totally, and completely love John Barrowman and have since I first saw him as Captain Jack on Doctor Who. He's gorgeous, multi-talented, genuinely a nice guy, intelligent...what's not to love? Getting his autobiography was a total no-brainer and, as I expected, I absolutely loved it. Like him, it's very down-to-earth, straightforward, and there's lots of humor and witty remarks. As a fan of musical theatre, it's great to hear about things from a performer's point of view and see how things are behind the scenes and what life is like when you're an actor/singer. I'm looking forward to the follow-up book, 'I am what I am'.
