I have to say I enjoyed seeing John fumble a bit when it comes to Vicky.
This is an inspiring tale of courage and resistance. It is also the hope-filled story at a time when all hope seems to have disappeared. Above all, this is a story of choices. The people around Irene who make choices to help. It details the life of one seemingly ordinary nursing student who decides to help a Jewish family. Written in a warm and direct style, very personal, it helps you understand WW II and the Holocaust. Do pick this book up and read it. It's a very moving book.
I liked it but it wasn#t the best book I read
